CD Once upon a time
With the CD Once upon a time the Tilburg harpist Michelle Sweegers shows all the different colors of the harp. With her self-composed works you are taken into a fairytale world, where all possible emotions pass by. She uses no less than 2 different types of harps: the flaming electric harp and the classical concert harp. Some compositions will also be supported by an entire orchestra: strings, winds and even the timpani!

The CD begins its story with Chant des Fleurs: a composition in which the flowers awaken and emerge into a sea of color. After a quiet intro, where you can hear the wind singing along with the sounds of the harp, the work expands further to a climax with a cheerful and colorful melody. After this colorful music you will be sucked into the warm and deep sounds of Freedom, in which hope and willpower are central. The electric harp will provide tension and excitement in Mystery. Step by step the loop builds up and then ethereal vocals, sirens and drums emerge. Then we come to rest again with Raindrops, which symbolizes the passing of the years.
The Enchantment of the Nightingale is the next work on the CD. This wonderful creature is known for its beautiful song and is a symbol of returning happiness. Then we will be immersed in a beautiful underwater world with Aquarium. With this free arrangement of the work of the same name by Camille Sains-Saëns, Michelle simulates the calm and undulating movements of the water on the electric harp. Fire immediately follows in which power, passion and joy resound. After this grandiose work, we can dream away at the minimalist composition Diamonds in the sky, where you can see the diamonds twinkling in the air. In Wandering in the Forest you enter the atmosphere of a mysterious forest, in which all your thoughts and pains come to the fore. Hypnotize takes you to the subconscious. The repetitive sounds and special effects of the harp will put you in a trance.

There is also a bonus track on this CD: De Vier Elementen. In this song you are taken into the story of "De Goudboom", in which the four elements (water, air, fire and earth) are central. The song was sung by Cailin van Loon, accompanied by the harp sounds of Michelle Sweegers.
