Dreamweaver is a fast-flowing mesmeric piece which builds to a climax at the centre then diminishes again to the end.

The dream is woven by the Harp 4 player, who has the honour of being "The Weaver"; the 8-bar motifs in the two "Dreamer" parts twine themselves around each other while the "Sleepwalker" (an easier part) wanders between them.

This arrangement for 4 parts harp ensemble sounds like a jazzy variation / improvisation on the well-known theme of 'House of the Rising Sun'. The piece sounds lik it has 3 parts, but part 1 is split into "Harp 1A" and "Harp 1B". The melody is niftily passed back and forth between the top two parts throughout the piece, effectively making them both Harp 1.

Stephen Dunstone's lively and rhythmic "Tubby's Tango" is a four-part piece for an ensemble of lever or pedal harps. The piece sounds even better with the addition of maracas, claves and tambourine.

Wind Across The Poppy Field was written for a pedal harp trio, but although all players have to switch between D♮ and D# numerous times in multiple octaves, it is possible for lever harpists to manage all the necessary changes, with a little planning. As I’ve included quite a few 6th octave Bs, and the very final notes for Harps 1 and 2 are 1st octave Bs, a lever harp with an extended range is an advantage.
