Each carol is presented in 2 versions. 
- The first is a (one-verse) vocal setting with introduction and accompaniment with the full text of the carol given. The vocal line can also or alternately be played by a melody instrument.  
- The second version is purely instrumental – and can be used as an interlude between verses in the vocal version.
