This is book 2 by the young Claire Pershan, who has already won composition contests in her home state of Connecticut. Although only age 14, her music is well thought out and nicely organized. This, her second book, contains thoughtful melodies which show a sense of maturity. The music is sometimes modal sounding, and always expressive. Intermediate level, the left hand and right hand share the stage, and many times the left hand carries the melody or an important rhythmic portion of the music.
