Dusty Strings dulcimer D650
- 4 octaves

The D650 is the ultimate chromatic hammered dulcimer. Built on the same body as the D600, it extends the range downward to 4½ octaves while maintaining the fully chromatic range of 3½ octaves. With the standard tuning of the D650, the lowest seven courses of the superbass bridge mirror the lowest seven courses of the bass bridge, but an octave lower. Just think of the possibilities for accurate low bass accompaniment!
Chromatic hammered dulcimers may be the best choice for those whose musical interests require lots of sharps and flats. Dusty Strings Chromatic Series dulcimers are highly regarded, sophisticated, professional-caliber instruments.
Dampers are a popular accessory on dulcimers. This sustain control device creates a wide range of tonal effects, from the rich and complex natural voice of the undamped strings to a wonderful, wholly muted marimba-like tone with no sustain. The dampers can be installed when the instrument is built, or very easily added later by the player. The dampers are not inclusive the price.
The D600 offers rich, full sound, overall versatility, and solid-wood elegance.
Price includes a set large double-sided wooden hammers, gooseneck tuning wrench and owner's guidebook.
A C600 transport cover is separate available.
