Dragonflies are often said to symbolize change and transformation. Astrid's late father was very fond of dragonflies. She remembers how they used to fly around a pond in a forest where she and her family used to come in the summers. It was in a beautiful forest where her father found a lot of peace. Later, when her father was dying and Astrid was an ocean away, a red dragonfly appeared in her living room. It flew around her to attract attention, then he sat down on a picture of her father and Astrid. That is why the dragonfly has a special meaning for her.
