Twist 1 - Traditional Tunes with a Twist
The "twist" is the jazzy approach in the arrangements of these tunes that are usually played with traditional chords and rhythms. The arrangements in this book are for lever harp, but can be played just as easily on piano. Most of the tunes can be played on a lever harp with only the F and C levers, but for one tune you will also need a G-sharp. Each arrangement begins more simply and less jazzy and then evolves into a more modern sound with jazzy chords, jazzy rhythms, or both. As one of Verlene's students put it, "these are not the chords your ancestors used!" Chord names are also given for guitar or any other chording instrument. 26 pages.
