Paris Once Again + CD
Many of you have enjoyed Mr. Mahan's first collection of French pieces entitled "French Impressions". Here is Paris Once Again- newly composed and beautiful pieces with the impressionistic harmonies that French music is known for. These pieces can be played on lever or pedal harp, but not on small harps of 26 strings or less. The melodies are beautiful. The level is intermediate. LH is supportive of the RH melodies and usually contains ascending arpeggios. Carousel and Moonlight on the Seine are quite different than the others in the collection, one having the driving 3/4 rhythm and the other having a decidedly modal feel that is enchanting. The Windows of Paris Suite is similar to the rendition in the first collection (French Impressions), but it has a new introduction and ending, total playing time around 5 minutes.
The included CD contains all the music played on harp, slowly for practice purposes.
Titles: Plasir D’amour (by Jean Martini), Paris Nocturne, Here’s to You, Moonlight on the Seine, Carousel Waltz, We’ll Always Have Paris, Windows of Paris Suite, Un Chanson Vieux, A Time to Say Goodbye.
