Chopin F. - Fantaisie-Impromptu
A beautiful, virtuoso harp solo for advanced players.
The piece is characterized by a distinctive '3 vs. 4' movement: the right hand plays sixteenth notes, and the left-eighths in sextolen. It requires a good rhythmic control from the player as well as a well-developed technique, especially because many passages through their extensive use of sharps and flats and repair signs are difficult to read. In addition, the piece musically requires a lot of a performer.
As is often the case with works by Chopin, the work consists of three parts. A first, fast and virtuoso part turns into a more cantabile second part in which feeling and romance prevail. Ultimately decide the work with an almost literal repetition of the first part virtuoso and a brief coda. 12 p.
